Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal play with Marvel for Halloween

The two stars of Avengers: Doomsday swapped costumes for an evening: Pedro Pascal slipped into Doctor Doom’s armor, while Robert Downey Jr. donned the Mister Fantastic outfit!

Robert Downey Jr. continues to have fun with Marvel characters.

For Halloween, the actor decided to add a third superhero to his list, time for a little joke with his partner.Avengers: DoomsdayPedro Pascal.

Rather than dressing up as their own characters, the two actors simply swapped costumes!

In a video posted on Instagram, Pedro Pascal first appears behind Doctor Doom’s metal mask, while Robert Downey Jr. hides his face. The two actors then reveal themselves to reveal their little exchange of roles: Pascal becomes the big villain of Marvel and Downey Jr. dons the suit of Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four.

“Victor. Richard. Costume swap!” commented the former Iron Man in the caption of the video. He even had fun throwing a “cross-dressing” in front of the camera, triggering laughter from his partner.

In a second video, the two men take the joke a little further by strolling through the streets, arm in arm, in their new outfits. Downey Jr. poses for the camera while Pascal sticks out his tongue, visibly delighted with his new look.

Marvel fans were obviously quick to look for a possible clue hidden in this exchange. Many notably noticed that Pedro Pascal’s Doctor Doom was wearing an MIT sweatshirt. A detail that could echo the comics, where Victor von Doom and Reed Richards met at university, before an accident took them on opposite paths.

A joke which obviously allows a little more promotion for Avengers: Doomsday. But there, Robert Downey Jr. will not fight alongside the Avengers: after playing Tony Stark for more than a decade, he returns to the MCU in the guise of his new adversary, Victor von Doom.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released in cinemas in France on December 16, 2026.
