Netflix reveals the release date of its One Piece anime remake
A new cartoon that will be released in about a year.
Netflix has finally lifted the veil on the release date of its ambitious animated remake of One Piece, simply titled The One Piece.
This new cartoon adaptation – and therefore different from the current live version – of Eiichiro Oda’s cult work will be produced by WIT Studio, and will offer a modernized rereading of the manga, starting from the very beginning of the story with the East Blue arc. The Netflix platform also unveiled a first official poster. We see a young Luffy in a tavern in the village of Fuchsia, surrounded in particular by Shanks, a key figure in his destiny.
The image is accompanied by a release date: it will be for February 2027.
Initially announced in 2023 in partnership with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network and Toei Animation, this new version of One Piece intends to offer a tighter approach to the original story, often criticized for its filler episodes. This time, the objective is clear: get to the point. The first season will cover the entire East Blue arc, approximately the first 50 chapters of the manga, up to Luffy’s meeting with Sanji. It will consist of only seven episodes…
