Michael 2: Miles Teller confirms that the sequel is on the way

The actor, who plays the singer’s lawyer and advisor, John Branca, gives news of Michael 2.

The phenomenon Michael is far from over.

While the Michael Jackson biopic continues to rack up millions at the global box office, Miles Teller has just confirmed that a sequel is indeed in preparation.

Present in Cannes to promote his new film Paper Tigerthe actor briefly discussed the future of the franchise in an interview with IndieWire. And obviously, things are already moving forward behind the scenes.

“They had to rework the third act of the last film. But for the sequel, I know they are working on it“, explained Miles Teller soberly about Michael 2. The actor, who plays the singer’s lawyer and advisor, John Branca, in the film, specifies that the creative team clearly wants to continue the story:

“I haven’t had any direct discussions yet, but I know the team is eager to finish this story.”

Obviously, finishing the story of Michael Jackson would mean going where the first part does not dare to go: towards affairs, scandals, and a much less sparkling image of the King of pop.

In any case, Miles Teller is ready to extend his stay in the world of Michael Jackson for a second round.

With $720 million in revenue to date, Michael is the second biggest success of the year 2026 in the world behind Super Mario Galaxy (950 million).
