David Beckham’s son will make his cinema debut in a French film with Catherine Deneuve and Guillaume Canet

Romeo Beckham, model and former footballer, will play one of the main roles in Forty Love, a romance set against a tennis backdrop.

After fashion and football, it’s time for cinema. Romeo Beckham, second son of former soccer star David Beckham and ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, is set to make his acting debut in a French film titled Forty Love.

The young man will star in this romance set in the world of professional tennis, which will also mark the first steps behind the camera of famous fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti.

Produced by Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary for Chi-Fou-Mi Productions (Mediawan group), and co-produced by Studiocanal and Manna Studios, the film brings together a prestigious cast composed of Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet, Benjamin Voisin and Catherine Deneuve.

The story follows Sacha Gallo, a tennis superstar played by Paul Kircher, who sees his life turned upside down when he crosses paths with a mysterious young man, played by Romeo Beckham, while he is training in Paris with his father. An encounter that will give rise to unexpected feelings and push the champion to question his certainties, his ambitions and his future.

With Forty LovePierre-Ange Carlotti intends to transpose his world as a photographer onto the screen. Frontal lighting, bodies captured in their rawest truth and permanent tension between desire and performance: the film promises to immerse the viewer in a world where ambition, intimacy and rivalry merge.

I am extremely happy to accompany the first feature film by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, whose work as a photographer I have always admired. There is in his images a tenderness, a melancholy and a rare power“, explains producer Hugo Sélignac. “His move to directing was obvious to me. With Forty Love, he has created a film that is both sensual and moving about the transition to adulthood, the demands of high-level sport and what goes on beneath the surface. Carried by exceptional performers, the film navigates gracefully between romantic tale and coming-of-age story.”

Forty Love is expected in French theaters on November 25, 2026.
