David Leitch: “Brad Pitt could have been a great action hero”

Where is it? Bullet Train 2 ?

While Margot Robbie seemed to be up for it in 2023 to join the cast of a second part, few concrete elements have come out since. According to indiscretions, the Australian actress would have been chosen to play a killer, in the manner of the brilliant Joey King in the first opus, after having crossed paths with Pitt for two ambitious productions: Once Upon a Time… in Hollywoodby Quentin Tarantino (2019) and in Babylonby Damien Chazelle (2022).

Brad Pitt, in fact, had immediately expressed his desire to work again for David Leitch, his former stunt double. Fight Club. Which, after The Fall Guyan equally crazy film where Ryan Gosling played a stuntman alongside Emily Blunt and …. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is currently free of any projects. A godsend? Not totally, judging by Margot Robbie’s belly, who is pregnant up to her neck and who will therefore not be able to play in a possible sequel for many months. Appearing at the very end of the film, will Sandra Bullock reappear for a longer period in a Bullet Train 2 ? This is in any case the wish of the fans, intrigued by her character as the boss of a syndicate of hired killers.

With the stars agreeing, the path is, at the very least, marked out. But that’s without counting on the studio, Sony, which has not yet shown any real desire to continue the adventure. Bullet Trainno doubt scalded by the film’s lackluster success. With $230 million collected worldwide during the summer of 2022, The blockbuster had performed well at the box office without being a bombshell…

In the midst of serial fever, Bullet Train still seems particularly suitable for several parts. With our good old Ladybug as the hero, depressed and funny in spite of himself, played by Brad Pitt and his boss Sandra Bullock (who he also met in The Secret of the Lost City, which explains one of the secret cameos in the film), one could easily imagine another assassination mission with other popular actors to beat up. On board a plane, this time? Or any other vehicle capable of accommodating multiple adversaries?

To be continued (hihi).
