Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford’s children are (finally) reunited in The Shards
Thirty years after the divorce of their famous parents, Homer Gere and Kaia Gerber star in Ryan Murphy’s new series… knowing that they had never met before filming.

Homer Gere, the son of Richard Gere, and Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, share the poster in The Shards, the new series by Ryan Murphy, which has just been launched on Disney+ in France.
We must remember that in the early 1990s, the Pretty Woman actor and the top model formed one of the most prominent couples on the celebrity planet. Their marriage lasted from 1991 to 1995. Then, each started a new life on their own. Homer Gere was born in 2000 from his second marriage to actress Carey Lowell. Then, Kaia Gerber arrived in 2001, born from Crawford’s marriage to Rande Gerber, a businessman to whom she is still married.
In fact, Homer Gere and Kaia Gerber are not related. And the two young actors had never even met before filming The Shards!
“It’s really funny, the odds are crazy,” Homer Gere tells USA Today. “We met two weeks before filming started, in a bar with the whole cast. And I think one of us immediately said, ‘Maybe we should pop the abscess and talk about it right away, right?’

A way to immediately evoke the marriage of their parents – before their birth – without it creating the slightest discomfort.
“It was actually completely natural. Kaia is a wonderful actress and a lovely person. We became very close. It was a real pleasure working with her.”
Kaia Gerber confirms that this unusual situation mainly amused them: “The world is really small…” The model and actress – who looks spectacularly like her mother – explains that she had never met Homer before the project:
“I met him a week before filming. Honestly, he’s a joy to work with. He grew up on the East Coast, I on the West Coast, but we became very close. I couldn’t have asked for a better acting partner.”
Adapted from the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, the series The Shards follows a group of high school students in Los Angeles in 1981, faced with the arrival of a mysterious new student while a serial killer, nicknamed The Trawler, terrorizes the city.
