Coco 2: Miguel has become a teenager in the first preview of the sequel to the great Pixar classic

Miguel has grown up and will return to the world of the dead alongside his faithful Dante. The film is expected in theaters in November 2029.

Miguel has grown up well. In the first image of Coco 2 unveiled Friday during the D23 convention, the young hero now appears as an adolescent, always accompanied by his faithful dog Dante. Pixar took the opportunity to confirm the release of the film in November 2029, as well as the return of Benjamin Bratt in the role of Ernesto de la Cruz.

And the famous Mexican singer will obviously still have some scores to settle with Miguel. On stage, Benjamin Bratt gave some clues about the story of this sequel. “For some, Miguel is a little demon who ruined a career and destroyed an inheritance”he explains. Before announcing Ernesto’s return: “Ernesto de la Cruz is back for revenge, sending Miguel on an adventure to the world of the dead.”

A new adventure that will force Miguel to team up with… Ernesto himself. “As if fate had a sense of humor, Miguel must team up with an attractive superstar: me”jokes Benjamin Bratt.

This sequel will therefore allow us to rediscover the universe of the first CocoPixar’s huge success released in 2017. Lee Unkrich, director of the first film, returns behind the camera alongside Adrian Molina. Mark Nielsen, producer in particular of Toy Story 4 And Vice-Versa 2will produce the film.

With Coco 2Pixar is continuing its strategy of sequels after the enormous success of Vice-Versa 2 And Toy Story 5both of which managed to exceed a billion dollars at the worldwide box office. The studio is also preparing The Incredibles 3expected in 2028.

Coco 2 will be released in cinemas in November 2029.
