Mad Max: Gal Gadot and Tom Hiddleston almost drove Fury Road

Instead of Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy, another duo could have taken the helm of George Miller’s film. Gal Gadot reveals today that she auditioned for the role of Furiosa, opposite a certain Tom Hiddleston.

She could have become Furiosa before being Wonder Woman!

Podcast guest Happy Sad Confused by Josh Horowitz, Gal Gadot returned to this audition spent in London with George Miller, the director of Max Max: Fury Road. So any young actress out of the saga Fast and Furiousshe was looking for her first major role and says she played opposite a certain Tom Hiddleston, already Loki and he also in the running for the film.

We arrived in London and I remember walking into this beautiful London house, into an office. We were there for four hours.” Gadot says. Arriving in the middle of winter with several layers of clothing, she explains that she left the audition in a tank top, as the work required had been intense.

It was such intense work, what we did and everything we filmed. And I thought we both did a good job.

Gadot especially has excellent memories of her audition partner, whom she did not yet know at the time.

Tommy such an incredible actor. He was a great stage actor in England, but he was truly extraordinary.

The role of Furiosa ultimately went to Charlize Theron, opposite Tom Hardy as Max. A choice that Gadot understands perfectly: “George really knew exactly what he wanted…”

Released in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road has become one of the great classics of contemporary action cinema and won six Oscars at the 88th ceremony.

Gal Gadot, for her part, became a DC Comics muse in the process, by taking Wonder Woman’s lasso. Since then, she has had a string of blockbusters, such as The Runnerdirected by Kevin Macdonald, which will be available on Prime Video on September 2.
