For her second solo production, Géraldine Nakache tells the story of the survival of a woman struggling with the toxicity of her relationship. A story intelligently mixing societal and religious reflections.
She takes off her jewelry, removes her makeup, cleans her nails, her face, her ears – fragments of the body that end up becoming one.
Naked, she descends into the bath, recites a prayer, immerses herself completely. Here she is purified; it is the power of the mikveh, a rite to which her husband, a practicing Jew, encourages her to undergo every month. From the beginning, the motif of water, the fragmentation of the female body and an adage (“If you think well, everything will be fine”) will be the common threads of a crossover story which……
