Far Cry recruits Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Steve Buscemi

Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, Jamie Demetriou, Lizzy Caplan and Rob Mac complete the cast.

It is one of the most anticipated video game adaptations of the next few years.

Far Cry will become a series at Disney (for its FX channel in the United States). And the casting will look great.

The production announced today that it has signed Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell and Jamie Demetriou who will star opposite Lizzy Caplan, and Steve Buscemi as well as Rob Mac, who will also be the showrunner of the series alongside Noah Hawley.

For the moment, however, FX is keeping secret the characters that these five new recruits will play, as well as the precise details of the plot. One thing is already certain: Far Cry will take the form of an anthology, like the video game franchise. Each season will tell a new story, in a new environment, with a new cast.

Remember that Brendan Gleeson was recently the villain of Spider-Noir. He was also nominated for the Oscars for The Banshees of Inisherin in 2023 and the Golden Globes for Good Kisses from Bruges (2008) while he played an important role in the Harry Potter films (Mad Eye Moody). For her part, Jennifer Jason Leigh has an Oscar nomination for The Dirty Eight. She recently shone in season 5 of Fargo. For his part, Hamish Linklater was in Legion, and especially in The Midnight Sermons on Netflix. while Sam Spruell appears in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and season 2 of Alien: Earth. Jamie Demetriou, finally, made himself known with the British comedy Stath Lets Flats and The Afterparty.

We will still have to wait before discovering the result. No release date has been announced at this time. In the United States, the series will be offered on FX and Hulu, while it will arrive in France and internationally on Disney+.
