Trailer for Camembert, the French comedy that dynamites the part of Trivial Pursuit

Guillermo Guiz arrives in a family where everyone is much more cultured than him. And an innocent game of Trivial Pursuit will quickly go into a tailspin.

“You ask complicated questions and if we don’t have the answer… everyone laughs!”

The rules of Trivial Pursuit are clear, clear, and shared by many families in France. They will now be available in cinemas with Camembertan ensemble comedy about matriarch Kristin Scott Thomas.

Camembert – named after the piece you win when you answer the questions correctly – promises to make this part of Trivial Pursuit go away with a bang, as evidenced by an explosive trailer where Guillermo Guiz tries as best he can not to appear like an idiot in front of the family of his girlfriend, played by Anaïde Rozam.

Alex Lutz, Pascale Arbillot, Bernard Le Coq, Panayotis Pascot and Jérémy Gillet complete the rest of the family.

The synopsis details: “Stan, a thirty-year-old from modest origins, meets his girlfriend Cléo’s family for the first time. But the Roussel clan is not exactly like the others: France, the impressive hostess, is the director of a prestigious photography festival. Around her gravitate an equally brilliant and cultured lover, a father a philosophy professor, a son a journalist, a sister professor of fine arts and a nephew in literary preparation. Stan then discovers the family tradition: every France’s birthday, we start a game of Trivial Pursuit©. He knows that he has no chance against these culture-fed scholars, but he has no choice: the whole family must participate, without exception. What could go wrong? After all, it’s just a board game…“

The film is written and directed by Nicolas Slomka and Matthieu Rumani, with the collaboration of Marina Rollman on the screenplay.

Camembert will be released in cinemas in France on November 18, 2026.
