Denis Villeneuve’s new movie has a release date, is it Dune 3?
Will we see Dune Messiah in December 2026 with Timothée Chalamet in IMAX?
Warner has just announced that the new film by Denis Villeneuve has an American release date: December 18, 2026, and in IMAX please. A production with the Legendary studio that does not yet have a title… And that all the American media are already announcing as being the third film in its Dune saga, The Messiah of Dune. Fun fact: for now, in the USA, the date of December 18th in two years is already preempted by Disney for a “untitled Star Wars movie”.
But nothing official for the moment, since the director had declared wanting to take a break after Dune: Part Two and he has several projects in the pipeline, including a “realistic” film revolving around a story of nuclear war, it seems. But some say that he would have changed his mind and would therefore be preparing the continuation of the story of Paul Atreides… This could also be his new Cleopatra which he has been talking about for a while. So? So we wait.
Otherwise, Dune: Part Two – biggest hit of 2024 until Inside Out 2 has not been released in theaters – returns on July 10 on DVD and Blu-ray, and the TV series Dune: Prophecy dedicated to the history of the Bene Gesserit is coming this fall to the Max streaming service.
