The boss of HBO will also lead Paramount+
Casey Bloys is expected to take the helm of Paramount+ in addition to HBO, as Cindy Holland leaves the group just days before the merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The great upheaval of streaming is taking shape.
As Paramount Skydance prepares to finalize its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery for 110 billion dollars, Casey Bloys, the boss of HBO, should regain the reins of all of the streaming activities of the new group, including Paramount +.
The information comes after the announcement of the departure of Cindy Holland, who headed Paramount + and the various streaming platforms of the Paramount group. In a message sent to her teams on Tuesday, she confirmed that David Ellison, the boss of Paramount Skydance, had decided on the future organization of streaming, without however directly mentioning Bloys.
“As David prepares for the next stage of his vision, we discussed my role and the future of the combined business. David wants to ensure the stability of HBO as we enter this new chapter, and I fully support him. I know this team has the leadership and expertise to support this transition and the next phase of the company. That’s why today will be my last day here.”

For several weeks, rumors had already announced the arrival of Casey Bloys at the head of all the platforms.
A fairly logical development for someone who has worked at HBO for nearly 25 years and who has steered the channel through three major ownership changes in just eight years.
JB Perrette, currently head of streaming, digital activities and video games at Warner Bros. Discovery, could also join the new management team alongside Bloys to oversee HBO, HBO Max and Paramount+.
Before joining Paramount, Cindy Holland spent 18 years at Netflix, including nine as vice president of original programming. She notably participated in the implementation of the platform’s original content strategy and supervised the teams behind series like House of Cards, Stranger Things and The Crown.
