Lulja Comar, 22, plays the tornado Françoise in Camarades, which begins this evening on Arte (and is already available online on Arte.tv). A formidable social and historical comedy, which recounts the “experience” of the University of Vincennes, when, in 1969, the French government accepted the creation of a totally free university, with new and openly protesting ideas. Another way of thinking about education, teaching, society, life in general.

“It’s a totally unknown part of French history,” the young actress confides to us, freely admitting to having never heard of this episode herself. For her first important role on screen, the young actress worked particularly hard, meeting people who were students there, to better imagine the anthill that this campus was at the time. “It was a whirlwind in which you could both get lost and find lots of things……
