After Denis Villeneuve and Stefano Sollima, it is the American realist Padraic McKinley (The Smugglers) who will direct this new film.

The screenplay is written by Steven Knight. The creator of Peaky Blinders is in high demand, even though he has already signed the new script for James Bond 26… for Denis Villeneuve.

The plot is currently being kept secret.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, the franchise surprised the world in 2015 with a first film carried by this same trio of stars. Emily Blunt skipped the sequel in 2018.

The popularity of the saga has continued to grow over the years. Padraic McKinley finally won the bet.

The director and Steven Knight are currently working to complete the script, taking into account feedback from the star trio.

The filming of Sicario 3 is planned for early 2027. No release date yet.
