Richard Madden in a new military thriller on Netflix: trailer

Netflix reveals the first images of Trinity, signed by the creator of Bodyguard, Jed Mercurio.

The creator of Bodyguard goes back into the corridors of power and finds Richard Madden.

Jed Mercurio signs Trinity, a political and military thriller in seven episodes, starring the former Game of Thrones star, who will star opposite Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The series will be released online on December 1 on Netflix.

The story follows Katherine Decker (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a respected naval officer, who finds herself embroiled in the affairs of Webb Preston (Richard Madden), a charismatic Secretary of Defense. Their meeting comes after a submarine comes close to accidentally launching a nuclear weapon. As they try to protect the crew and understand what is threatening the country, Decker gradually discovers that Preston may be at the heart of a much larger conspiracy.

The trailer gives an overview of this high-tension investigation, where state secrets and influence games seem to mix with an international threat. The official synopsis announces that “a heroic naval officer, linked to the Secretary of Defense, discovers a series of secrets likely to link him to a global threat”.

Also in the cast are Marcia Gay Harden (The Morning Show), JD Pardo (Mayans MC), Bruce Greenwood (The Fall of the House of Usher), Robert Wisdom (Barry), Kirk Acevedo (Fringe), Ben Cotton (Resident Alien) and James Remar (Dexter: Resurrection).

Already at the origin of Line of Duty and Bodyguard, Jed Mercurio serves here as creator, screenwriter, showrunner and executive producer.
