Anatomy of a triumphant fall at the Enlightenment ceremony
The international press awarded three major prizes to Justine Triet’s film.
Before the Cesar nominationswhich will be revealed this Wednesday, theAcademy of Enlightenment awarded its 29th prizes on Monday evening at the Forum des images in Paris. Like the American Golden Globes, the winners are chosen by international press correspondents from 36 countries.
Without surprise, Anatomy of a fall was the big winner of the evening. The film of Justine Triet was crowned in the categories of best film, best screenplay and best actress (Sandra Hüller). This triumph confirms the rating of the latest Palme d’Or, which could land several Oscar nominations, announced this Tuesday.
The Academy of Lights also awarded The Animal Kingdom by awarding Thomas Cailley the prize for best direction. Arieh Worthalter was named best actor for his performance in The Goldman trial by Cedric Kahn. The prize for best first feature film goes to Iris Kaltenbäck for THE Rapture. That of the best documentary to Kaouther Ben Hania for Olfa’s Daughters. And that of best animated film to Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach for Linda wants chicken!
