Christian Bale confirms that he will be in the casting of Heat 2

He will share the bill with Leonardo DiCaprio under the direction of Michael Mann.

After years of rumors and speculation, Heat 2 is coming to fruition. And the mystery surrounding the casting, for which many stars have been announced, is gradually being lifted.

Last December, Leonardo DiCaprio officially confirmed his involvement in the sequel to Heat. Now it’s Christian Bale’s turn to let go.

The information comes from American presenter Jake Hamilton, who interviews Hollywood’s biggest stars on his YouTube channel Jake’s Takes. On his X account, he states: “Christian Bale just told me: ‘I’ll be back in Chicago soon for Heat 2!'”

Christian Bale had already played for Michael Mann in Public Enemieswhich took place partly in Chicago. The city is one of the places in the story of Heat 2a novel published by the director in 2022 and which will therefore be adapted for the cinema, more than 30 years after the original 1995 film. The latest news is that Mann wanted to start filming next August.

Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio will therefore perform opposite each other for the first time. But we don’t yet know in what roles. As a reminder, Heat 2 takes place over several decades and several continents. It is both a prequel and a sequel to Heatwhere we notably find the characters of Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino), Neil McCauley (Robert de Niro), Chris Shiherlis (Val Kilmer) and Michael Cerrito (Tom Sizemore).

We are now waiting for other names to be made official. Like those of Adam Driver or Stephen Graham, which have also circulated in recent months.
