Christopher Nolan will film his Odyssey in Sicily very soon
The adventures of Ulysses will be partly shot on the Mediterranean coasts.
After the true story ofOppenheimer,, Christopher Nolan attacks a myth, that of Ulysses, in his next film Odyssey. It will be a large epic in costumes, and shot in real sets (at least in part).
Variety reveals that Nolan will soon put his cameras in the Mediterranean, to film in Sicily, where the king of Ithaca lived a large part of the adventures narrated by Homer in his work taking place around the 8th century BC BC.
The shooting of the Sicilian part of Odyssey should start in about two months on the island of Favignana, known as the “Isle aux Chèvres”, which would be the place where Homer had imagined that U ulies would land with his crew to make goats and S ‘ supply food. The idyllic island is part of the archipelago of the equals off the northwest coast of Sicily. He could then push production even in the wind islands. The other announced filming places in the film are the United Kingdom (in the studio) and Morocco.
Christopher Nolan will film using a brand new IMAX cinematographic technology.
As always, Nolan is assembling an impressive cast: Tom Holland,, Zendaya,, Matt Damon,, Anne HathawayLupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron … Now, we can start imagining them in the skin of the heroes of Odyssey. Who will play Ulysses? Penelope? Tom Holland in Telemachus? Matt Damon in cyclops? The journey is just beginning.
Odyssey will be released in the cinema in France on July 15, 2026.
