The perilous journey home of Ulysses, after the Trojan War, as we have never seen it in the cinema.

The trailer for The Odysseybroadcast for several days in American cinemas, has just been put online. And she’s not going to dampen the hype around Christoper Nolan’s new blockbuster, adapted from Homer’s epic poem. No offense to Disclosure Day by Steven Spielberg, Dune 3 Or Avengers: Doomsdayit is THE most anticipated film of 2026.

This first trailer doesn’t say too much, just enough to make us salivate while waiting for the release of The Odysseyon July 15 in France. He connects majestic shots, punctuated by the music of Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer) and the voice-over of Matt Damon, playing a Ulysses overwhelmed by trials and having only one idea in mind, returning to his kingdom of Ithaca to find his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and his son Telemachus (Tom Holland).

The Odyssey is the continuation of the Iliadand takes place after the Trojan War, told in the film’s prologue, of which the trailer includes some shots. We also see the Cyclops in his cave, Bennie Safdie as Agamemnon, wearing a sumptuous black helmet, brief images of the Kingdom of the Dead, then Ulysses and his men facing the raging sea.

Christopher Nolan benefited from a budget of 250 million dollars, the largest of his career, for this film shot entirely in IMAX and in the old style, in natural settings and with special effects. To get a better idea of ​​what it will look like on the big screen, the prologue will soon be visible in IMAX theaters in France, and this trailer screened before the UGC cinema screenings.
