Civil François against Kit Harington in a British series
A Tale of Two Cities will talk about the French Revolution and will be seen in France on Prime Video.
D’Artagnan against Jon Snow. This is the promise of the A Tale of Two Cities series, a new adaptation of the classic novel by Charles Dickens. A story of espionage, between London and Paris, against the backdrop of a French revolution. But also a love triangle where the Scottish actress Mirren Mack (Miss Austen, photo below) will capsize the hearts of François Civil and Kit Harington, the latter being also a producer.
The shooting will start in October, under the direction of Hong Khaou (Lilting or the Delicacy), with a scenario signed Daniel West (Gunpowder, Top Boy). This mini-series in four episodes will be broadcast in 2026, in the United Kingdom by the BBC, and in France by Prime Video.
It will be the first major major role in English by François Civil, who masters the language of Shakespeare well and had already participated in English -speaking productions before his career took off.
Synopsis:
London, 1782. The life of Lucie Manette switches overnight when a messenger arose from Nowhere tells her that her father, whom she believed dead for eighteen years, would be alive in Paris. Very quickly, the man was accused of espionage, leaving no other choice to the young woman than to ally with a lawyer as brilliant as tormented to innocent him. Embarked in the whirlwind of history, their destinies intersect irreparably between London and Paris even though France is on the verge of igniting.
