Dark Matter season 2 reveals its trailer: the multiverse war has only just begun

The hit Apple TV series will soon make its return. After returning to a seemingly normal life, Jason Dessen and his family plunge back into the chaos of the multiverse, with only one mission: destroy the Box before it is too late.

The multiverse has not finished playing tricks on them.

Two years later, Apple TV finally reveals the trailer for season 2 of Dark Matter (see below), its science fiction thriller adapted from the novel by Blake Crouch, one of the best creations in the entire history of the platform.

The new episodes pick up after the events of season 1. The Dessens have settled in a reality that finally seems safe, called World 26, and hope to return to a normal life. But this respite will be short-lived.

The trailer shows Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) increasingly obsessed with the mysteries of the Box, the strange machine capable of opening passages between realities. As its effects continue to spread across the multiverse, Jason, Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) and their allies understand that surviving will no longer be enough: their only chance now is to destroy the Box before it causes irreversible catastrophe.

The official synopsis states: “In season 1, Jason Dessen, physicist, professor and father, was kidnapped while walking home on the streets of Chicago, before being thrown into an alternate version of his own life. What seemed like a wonder quickly became a nightmare as he tried to find his reality through the hallucinatory landscape of all the lives he could have lived. In this season 2, the Dessens find a peaceful existence in a world that seems to them finally safe, before being forced to flee once again in the face of the unthinkable Jason becomes more and more obsessed with the Box, while Daniela descends into paranoia, threatening the already fragile balance of their family. Amanda (Alice Braga) and Ryan (Jimmi Simpson) join forces in a desperate attempt to return home. Blair (Amanda Brugel) is determined to stop them, while Leighton (Dayo Okeniyi) relentlessly pursues her ambition. to create a perfect world.”

In addition to Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, the cast includes Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley and Amanda Brugel.

This second season will have 10 episodes. The first will go live on August 28 on Apple TV, before broadcast weekly every Friday until October 30.

At the same time, Apple will also launch Dark Matter: The Official Podcast. Hosted by Blake Crouch and producer Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry, it will return, with the cast and crew of the series, behind the scenes of creation, the scientific concepts of the multiverse and the way in which this adaptation extends the universe imagined in the original novel.
