A drama dedicated to a child psychiatric care unit, presented this week in official competition in Venice.

After Making Ofawarded at the Venice Film Festival in 2023, then the great success of Goldman trialwho received four César nominations the same year, Cédric Kahn continues his exploration of French society with 15/18.

It is a drama, co-written with Kahina Le Querrec, which is presented this week in official competition at the Mostra.

The feature film immerses us in a child psychiatric care unit of a public hospital, where adolescents aged 15 to 18 are cared for.

Lucia, 17, is taken by the police to a child psychiatric care unit at the public hospital. Here all the patients are between 15 and 18 years old. Lucia knows the place, she has stayed there many times. She finds her friend Eloïse, in long-term hospitalization, but also Yasmine, Camilia, Ulysse, André…all have different pathologies and backgrounds. The doctors treat them, listen to them, see their parents, all while managing an overheating service. But one day, the arrival of the mysterious Enzo threatens to change everything” details the synopsis.

For his new film, Cédric Kahn surrounds himself in particular with young actors like Malou Khebizi, Kenji Peyran, Patience Munchenbach and Zoé Monpart, a newcomer who plays Eloïse. Sophie Guillemin, Cédric Kahn, Antoine de Foucauld and Jennifer Decker from the Comédie-Française complete the cast.

15/18 will be released in cinemas on November 18, 2026.
