Finally, Lent will have a season 2

Benjamin Voisin will take over the role of Antonin Carême in front of Martin Bourboulon’s camera.

A year and a half later, Apple finally decided to bring back Lent.

Once he has played Johnny Hallyday on screen in the famous biopic dedicated to the singer, actor Benjamin Voisin will be back in season 2 of the series, which has just been officially ordered. It will always be produced by Martin Bourboulon.

Filming for season 2 will begin next week in Paris.

Recently nominated for the International Emmy Awards in the Best Drama Series category, Carême told the story of the first great chef to achieve fame. A sulfurous historical drama in Napoleonic France. “While he is driven by a single goal, to become the most famous chef in the world, his talent and his ambitions attract the attention of politicians as renowned as they are powerful who will make him a spy in the service of France. Determined to escape from his condition and fulfill his dream, Carême has the choice between revenge or having everything – women, money, glory – but at what price: love? His life? His soul?”, details the synopsis.

Jérémie Renier (Cloclo) and Alice Da Luz (Hanami) will also be in the cast of this second season.

Inspired by the book Lent: Cooking for Kings: The Life of the First Celebrity Chef by historian and playwright Ian Kelly, the series was created by Kelly and Davide Serino (Mr. Child of the Century).
