First celebrating 50 years with Rocky: don’t miss our special session

See you on November 26, 2026 at Pathé Beaugrenelle to celebrate the anniversary of Première around a film that marked the history of cinema.

To celebrate its half-century and prepare for the 50 years to come, First needs you! The magazine launched a crowdfunding campaign on Ulule and is continuing, for the occasion, its journey through the films that marked his memory, and those that brought him to life.

After Full Metal Jacket by Stanley Kubrick, screened on October 15 at the Pathé Beaugrenelle, make way for another monument: Rocky by John G. Avildsen (1976).

When the film comes out, no one bets on this small budget carried by an unknown actor. Sylvester Stallone, who wrote the screenplay in a few days and refused to sell it without playing the main role, nevertheless signs one of the most beautiful tales of American cinema. The public was won over, the critics followed, and the film walked away with three Oscars, including best film.

The shock is on point: the story of a second-rate boxer from Philadelphia, Rocky Balboa, who is offered a unique chance to face world champion Apollo Creed. Not to win, but to “go all the way”. A tender romance with the shy Adrian, a workout in the icy streets of the city, a climb of stairs that has become legendary.

Replicas that have become cult, music by Bill Conti that has become a part of everyone’s memories, a lasting influence on sports films and on the imagination of children’s revenge.

The next special session will take place on November 26, 2026 at 7:45 p.m. at Pathé Beaugrenelle, presented by Gaël Golhen, to return together to what Rocky represented for First and for a whole generation of readers. You can reserve your places now.

And so that the next 50 years are written with you, go to the Ulule page of First : every contribution counts.
