First images of Peau d’homme with Pomme, Catherine Deneuve and Stefan Crépon
The adaptation of the comic strip by Hubert and Zanzim by Léa Domenach will be presented on the sidelines of the Venice Film Festival.
Filmed last fall, Men’s skin reveals its first images. Diaphana, its distributor, shared two first visuals on the occasion of the film’s selection on the sidelines of the Venice Film Festival, where it will be presented at the closing of the Giornate degli autori, the equivalent of the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival.
We discover Claire Pommet alias Pomme, who will play the main role of Blanche, Catherine Deneuve, in that of her godmother, and Stefan Crépon who will play Leonard. Directed by Léa Domenach (Bernadette), Men’s skin is based on the graphic novel by Hubert and Zanzim, recently adapted for the theater (with Laure Calamy).
The story of the comic strip takes place in Renaissance Italy. Blanche, a young woman from a good family, is promised to the son of a rich merchant, as part of a marriage arranged by their parents. Blanche’s godmother, who is also her aunt, then makes her discover a secret passed down for generations by the women of her family: a magical skin allowing her to become a man when she puts it on.
Karin Viard, Louis Peres, Eddy de Pretto, Melha Bedia, Laurent Stocker, Estéban, Gilbert Melki and Paul de Saint Sernin complete the cast. The music will be by Bryce Dessner, Claire Pommet and Eddy de Pretto. Men’s skin will be released in cinemas on January 27, 2027.
