First images of Rust, the western tragedy with Alec Baldwin
Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed on set in 2021, after a live bullet was accidentally inserted into a gun.
One year after the trial, and three years after the death of Halyna Hutchins, Rust is indeed going to be released in the cinema! The first official images from Joel Souza’s western have just been posted online via Dealine.
Among them, there are two photos taken by the late director of photography, accidentally killed by a live bullet, on the set, fired by Alex Baldwin during rehearsals.
This tragedy led to production of the film being halted for almost two years. Alex Baldwin and the production’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, were initially charged with manslaughter. The charges against the actor have since been dropped.
After filming resumed, cinematographer Bianca Cline took over from Hutchins, and the remaining three new images are credited to her.
