According to the recent report of Deadline,, John Hamburg was chosen to direct this fourth film and he should also write the script. Hamburg is well known in the world of My stepfather and mehaving worked as a screenwriter on the three previous films.
He has also collaborated several times with Ben Stillerespecially at the staging of As you are (2004). The director also wrote for other Stiller projects, including the two films Zolander.
