More than twenty years after the cult romantic comedy from 2003, Paramount is preparing a sequel. Kate Hudson will be producer and could find Matthew McConaughey in front of the camera.

Paramount is working on a sequel to How to get dumped in ten lessonswith Kate Hudson already attached to the project as producer. However, development is still in its early stages and several key positions, including that of screenwriter, still remain to be filled.
The studio and producers would like to find the original duo. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey could therefore reprise their respective roles of Andie Anderson and Benjamin Barry, but their return will depend in particular on the scenario which is ultimately chosen.
Stacey Sher will also produce the film alongside Kate Hudson, through her company Shiny Penny. The producer is particularly known for having worked on pulp Fiction, Gattaca, Erin Brockovich, Vanilla Sky And Django Unchained.
Released in 2003, How to get dumped in ten lessons recounted the game of seduction as absurd as it was Machiavellian between Andie, a journalist specializing in romantic relationships, and Benjamin, a particularly self-confident advertising executive.
For the purposes of an article, Andie decides to seduce Benjamin before voluntarily becoming the worst girlfriend imaginable. For his part, Benjamin bets with his boss that he can make any woman fall in love with him. Obviously, both of their plans will end up backfiring when feelings get involved.
Directed by Donald Petrie, the comedy grossed nearly $180 million worldwide for a budget of around $50 million. It has since become one of the romantic comedy classics of the 2000s.
This announcement comes as Hollywood once again draws heavily on nostalgia for the 2000s. After The Devil Wears Prada 2we wait The Bewitchers 2 in theaters in early September.
