Spider in black and white and in color: Nicolas Cage offers two trailers

“It’s perfect like that!” Nicolas Cage doesn’t care about the cancellation of Spider-Noir

Prime Video has decided not to order season 2. But the star assures that he has no regrets and considers that the first season is sufficient in itself.

We learned this weekend of the cancellation of Spider-Noir, the Prime Video series, which subsequently won 4 Emmy Awards.

But this is not a concern for the first person concerned, Nicolas Cage, who seems to take the news philosophically. For the Oscar-winning actor, one season was finally enough and he considers that the series is finished, in a press release sent to Deadline:

“For me, one season is perfect. I said everything I wanted to say with this pop-art, dangerous and innovative Spider-Man. You have to keep moving forward, go higher, and turn inward.”

Spider-Noir was widely praised by critics. But this success was not enough to convince the platform to continue the adventure. The series started with 851 million minutes viewed in its first week, according to Nielsen, but failed to maintain the momentum of other Prime Video productions.

The particularly high cost of the series may also have weighed in the balance. The production notably shot two versions of each episode, one in color and the other in black and white, an ambitious but inevitably expensive aesthetic choice.
