Jamie Lee Curtis becomes Arabesque at the cinema
A new Jessica Fletcher, which will be released in theaters for Christmas 2027.
She’s an investigator that people under 20 can’t know…
Arabesque is getting a big screen reboot at Universal Pictures. Jamie Lee Curtis will play the main role playing the famous detective novelist and amateur investigator Jessica Fletcher, formerly played by Angela Lansbury on television, in a detective series which lasted 264 episodes!
No plot details have been revealed yet, but the series – which aired for 12 seasons between 1984 and 1996 – followed Fletcher as he was able to solve murders in the fictional small town of Cabot Cove, Maine.
Arabesque will be released in cinemas at Christmas 2027, Universal announces, more precisely on December 22 simultaneously worldwide. The film will thus have to face two box office juggernauts: Avengers: Secret Wars (Disney) and The Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum (Warner Bros.), expected the previous weekend.
The Arabesque reboot will be directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect), from a screenplay by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money). The production is ensured by Amy Pascal, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, recently reunited on the success Project Last Chance.
