The Last of Us Season 2 Revealed in Tense Sneak Peek (Video)
Pedro Pascal (Joel) faces a mysterious Catherine O’Hara.
While season 2 of House of the Dragon has just come to an end, Max, the platform that broadcasts the series, celebrated the news by publishing on its networks the first trailers of the next series coming this year and next year. Between the first images of the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Welcome to Derry and season 3 of The White Lotusthere were exclusive visuals from the upcoming season of The Last of Usand it looks set to be particularly violent.
Last year, the adaptation of this post-apocalyptic survival video game was a huge success, becoming one of the best adaptations of a game on the small screen. Bringing together newcomers and connoisseurs, the series was nominated and even rewarded at the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. Its first season followed the first gaming installment and ended with Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, who, to save Ellie, played by Bella Ramseydid not hesitate for a single second to commit a real massacre. Unconscious, when he wakes up, he hides the truth from her and instead declares that the operation to produce an antidote for the virus that is decimating the population, of which she is the key, has failed.
In line with this, will season 2 follow in the footsteps of The Last of Us 2 ? The first trailer reveals some passages present in the game, while maintaining a bit of mystery.

Just like in the video game, fans recognize the party in Jackson and Ellie’s tattoo covering his scar – a detail that should not have been missed. In the heat of the action, it seems that we see the Seraphites, also called the Scars, a group of fanatics living in the forest, and recognizable by their shaved heads. They will certainly be part of the antagonists of this season. Between two scenes of violence, and unbearable tension, we also see three new essential characters: Jeffrey Wright as Isaac – a militia leader he already voiced in the original video game – Kaitlyn Dever in Abby’s skin, and Isabela Merced in Dina’s – two female characters connected to Ellie in one way or another.
At the center of this sneak peek, a tearful Pedro Pascal recalls his final actions in season 1. But while in the video game it is to his brother Tommy – played in the series by Garbiel Luna – that he declares “i saved her”here it is at Catherine O’Hara that he makes this statement. Who does it interpret? No one knows.
Season 2 of The Last of Us will contain seven episodes and will be broadcast in 2025. The story will not end there because a third season is already planned.
