A new Robin of Woods in Game of Thrones mode: trailer

Sean Bean will be the Sheriff of Nottingham in this new more realistic adaptation.

The tireless Robin des Bois is about to experience a new television adventure.

MGM+ has just unveiled a first teaser of its series in ten episodes, expected this fall (no broadcasting in France yet, but MGM belonging to Amazon, it could be on Prime Video).

Presented as a modern rereading of legend, the series promises to mix contemporary and romantic breath: “An intelligent, ample and romantic adventure, which brings historical authenticity, psychological depth and a renewed focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian.”

The intrigue takes place in Norman post-invasion England. Rob, son of a Saxon forest, and Marian, daughter of a Norman lord, fall in love and unite to fight injustice. While Rob heads a band of outlaws, Marian infiltrates the circles of power in order to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to the kingdom.

It is the young first Jack Patten (in his first big role) who will have the heavy charge of bringing Robin to life on the screen, succeeding Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe or Taron Egerton. Lauren McQueen (Hollyoaks) will be Marianne. And Connie Nielsen (Gladiator) will be Aliénor d’Aquitaine.

Above all, we will note the presence in the casting of Sean Bean (snowpiecer) in Sheriff de Nottingham, in a period costume which will undoubtedly recall the great hours of Ned Stark in Westeros at the Game of Thrones fans.

The series is supervised by John Glenn (Hatfields & McCcoys, Seal Team), Showrunner, screenwriter and executive producer, accompanied by Jonathan English (also in realization) and Todd Lieberman.

The first two episodes will be available on Sunday November 2 on MGM+, followed each week from a new episode until December 28, the date of the final of this first season.
