Carried by a dark and singular vision of contemporary America, Eddington offers a daring political and social reading, which was not unanimous. Perched in the heights of the palace, around twenty spectators discreetly left the room under projection. And while the credits were approaching, several others preferred to get lost.

True to himself, Ari Aster was as modest as it is enigmatic during his post-projection speech: “I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what you think. Sorry, maybe? Thank you, I imagine?” Before adding, more sincerely: “I feel very privileged to be here. It is a dream that becomes reality. Thank you very much for welcoming me.”
