Three years later A difficult year, the director duo is back and takes a leap into the past.
The trend is towards nostalgia, and the very successful pair is no exception. Last year it was the 90’s that invited themselves onto our screens with notably Love phew And Their children after themthis year it’s the turn of the 80 generation to take their place. On March 18, the film by Jean-Baptiste Saurel, retro special, Flash 80 Fontappears in the cinema. In mid-April, Just an illusionwhich also takes this very colorful decade as its setting, will be released in theaters.
With this latest feature film, the directors ofUntouchables return to their childhood with another comedy. In an interview with France Info, Eric Toledano explains their choice to stage this very special era: “We ask ourselves and say, why have I been so marked by these years, why have objects, music, sounds, smells had such an impact on me? We had fun talking about adolescence (…). (…) but in the context of our adolescence, Olivier and I.”
On the casting side we will find Camille Cottin in the role of the overwhelmed mother, Louis Garrel as the jealous father and Pierre Lottin as the flirtatious neighbor. But also Simon Boublil who plays the young son in love and Alexis Rosenstiehl, the older teenage brother.
Synopsis: “It is 1985, Vincent, almost 13 years old, lives in the Paris suburbs in a middle-class family, between a distant older brother and parents in permanent conflict. While he is “already no longer” a child and he is “not yet” an adult, we will share his questions and doubts about identity, friendship, family, religion, desire and the first impulses of love.”
