La Casa de Papel will make its return: an exciting teaser posted online by Netflix
“The revolution continues” announces the platform, which suggests that new heists are in preparation…
The universe of La Casa de Papel has not said its last word.
Netflix formalized the return of its phenomenon franchise on Saturday with the publication of an enigmatic teaser… and above all a message which suggests that the platform is preparing much more than just a new season.
“Some stories begin with a perfect shot. And this one changed everything. From the first heist to steal money, to the heist of the century to steal priceless treasures, to the assault on the Bank of Spain to steal tons of gold, the world of La Casa de Papel has never stopped evolving, growing and surprising. But one thing is clear: the revolution is never over.”
Enough to fuel all the speculation. Netflix is clearly talking about an expansion of the universe, suggesting that several spin-offs could see the light of day, rather than a simple classic season 6.
The official teaser (above), posted online this Sunday, lasts around fifty seconds, and carefully maintains the mystery.
Its final scene – hands digging up a gold bar – particularly caught the attention of fans, who are already seeing clues to the sequel.
According to the Spanish newspaper El País, the production company Vancouver, founded by Álex Pina, the creator of La Casa de Papel, is currently filming a four-episode mini-series centered on Colonel Tamayo, played by Fernando Cayo. A project that could only be the first piece of a much larger puzzle. The announcement was made by Álvaro Morte, the unforgettable Professor, during the world premiere of season 2 of Berlin in Seville. This new batch of episodes will be uploaded on May 15 on Netflix.
One thing is certain: five years after the end of the original series, La Casa de Papel is still preparing to break the bank.
