Finally an release date for the new Game of Thrones series
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for the New Year.
“This winter, spring is coming.”
It is with this little word game on Winter is coming that HBO has formalized the future release of the new Game of Thrones series: with the first post, we confirm that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, will arrive next January (on HBO Max in France).
This is actually an official confirmation, which validates what the boss of the Casey Bloys channel already said, a few days ago.
Unfortunately, we have no specific day yet. We must be satisfied, for the moment, of this first poster highlighting Ser Duncan le Grand (alias Dunk, embodied by Peter Claffey, seen in Bad Sisters) and his young bald squire, Egg (played by Dexter Sol Ansell, Emmerdale). The slogan: a tall tale that became legend (of a great story was born a legend).
According to the official synopsis, the series takes place at a time when the Targaryen still reign over the iron throne, and where the memory of the last dragons is still alive. Large destinies, formidable adversaries and perilous exploits await this improbable duo.
The first season will be partly staged by Owen Harris (San Junipero by Black Mirror, but also Mrs. Davis, Miscits, The Twilight Zone), which will make three episodes.
Commissioned in April 2023, the series was written and produced by George Rr Martin and Ira Parker, with the participation of Ryan Condal (House of the Dragon), Sarah Bradshaw, Vince Gerardis and Harris in executive producers.
Recall that there will be a double dose of westeros next year, since season 3 of House of the Dragon will be released a priori from June 2026.
