Marriage, divorce, blended families… What is loveUltimately ? This is the question posed by this feel-good and romantic comedy, crowned Grand Prize for comedy film at the Alpe d’Huez Festival 2026. Prize for Best Actress in Isère, Laure Calamy plays Marguerite, a woman who must help her ex-husband, played by Vincent Macaigne, to remarry in church. The trailer can be seen below.
Director Fabien Gorgeart continues to explore the family and finds Mélanie Thierry and Lyes Salem (who play the new companions), already directed in his previous feature, The Real Family (2021).
The synopsis details: “When Fred asks his ex-wife, Marguerite, to have their church marriage annulled so that they can remarry, she is delighted to see him start his life again. But what should have been a simple formality turns out to be more complicated than expected and will lead them to Rome with their children and their new spouses. A colorful journey for all the members of this blended family.”
Celeste Brunnquell and Saul Benchetrit complete the cast.
