Marion Cotillard flees justice in the first Karma teaser

The actress reunites with Guillaume Canet in this thriller presented at Cannes 2026.

This is one of the events of the Cannes Film Festival. Guillaume Canet reunites with Marion Cotillard for her big return behind the camera, three years later Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom. A psychological thriller which reveals its poster and a first teaser just before its presentation on the Croisette, out of competition, this Friday.

Synopsis:

In a village in the north of Spain, Jeanne tries to rebuild her life with Daniel, who knows nothing of her troubled past. One day, Mateo, Jeanne’s six-year-old godson, mysteriously disappears… In order to escape the police who quickly suspect her, Jeanne takes refuge in France in the community where she was born and which she fled a few years previously. Daniel does not believe in the guilt of the woman he loves and will do everything to find her before the police.

These first images open with a voice-over evoking his return and focus on his relationship with the character played by Denis Ménochet, the head of a mysterious religious community. “You should never have come back“, he told her. Leonardo Sbaraglia plays Marion Cotillard’s husband.

Karma will be released in cinemas on October 21, 2026.
