Marty Supreme becomes the biggest success in the history of the A24 studio
Timothée Chalamet and his ping pong have grossed $147 million worldwide so far.
New record for A24 !
Marty Supremethe sports comedy-drama led by Timothée Chalamet, has officially become the biggest global success ever signed by the small independent studio created in 2012, with $147 million in international revenue.
In detail, the film has earned $93 million in the United States and $54 million internationally, surpassing the previous record held by Everything Everywhere All at Once (142 million), crowned best film at the Oscars, as well as Civil War by Alex Garland (127 million worldwide), so far the studio’s two biggest titles at the global box office.
Earlier this year, Marty Supreme had already reached a symbolic milestone by becoming A24’s biggest success on American territory, erasing Everything Everywhere All at Once with 77 million dollars on American soil. It only took a few more weeks to scale the trial globally.
Knowing that the film has not yet been released anywhere on the planet: it will hit the French market this Wednesday, February 11, for example…
A relief for the studio, which invested $70 million in the production – an absolute record for the company – without counting significant marketing costs.
On the rewards side, Marty Supreme also established himself as a heavyweight of the season. Timothée Chalamet won the Golden Globe and the Critics Choice Award for best actor, while the film has nine Oscar nominations, including best film, best actor for Chalamet and best direction for Safdie.
