Matt Damon makes his Trojan Horse to invade Jimmy Kimmel
To promote Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Matt Damon found an idea that matched his character Ulysses: arriving on Jimmy Kimmel’s set hidden in a horse…
For years, Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel have had a scathing (false) rivalry on American television. And last night, the actor once again found a way to trap his favorite enemy.
At the end of his monologue, the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! received a surprise delivery: a huge horse accompanied by a foal. “I didn’t order a horse!” he wondered as the package was brought on stage.
But the biggest surprise was hidden inside. The horse suddenly opened to reveal Matt Damon, laughing.
“The horse is here and there is no going back! I did it! I am here!”launched the actor. “I have crossed seas and wars to save this public from mediocrity.”
Jimmy Kimmela immediately replied: “What is this? It’s trespassing! Another crime you’re committing here!”
This spectacular entry was obviously not a coincidence. In The OdysseyChristopher Nolan’s next event film, Matt Damon plays Ulysses, the Greek hero associated with the famous Trojan Horse scheme.
When Kimmel asked him how long he had been hiding in his horse, Matt Damon simply replied: “Um…did the Knicks win?“Implied, at least a week!
Then the actor revealed the real reason for his visit: “What do you think, idiot? I’m on your show to promote my new movie. It comes out July 17. It’s called The Odyssey. It’s based on a book, so you probably don’t know…“
The Odyssey will be released on July 15 in France.
