Nicolas Cage will make Benjamin Gates 3 if the film deals with the Epstein affair
The actor denies being involved in the third part of the Disney saga. But he has a very precise idea of the plot which could convince him to take up the role of the adventurer…
Will Benjamin Gates go on a treasure hunt again?
Not so fast. Last August, director Jon Turteltaub announced that Benjamin Gates 3 was finally on the way, with Nicolas Cage returning in the lead role. He even claimed that a script had been completed and approved by himself and Disney. Except that apparently no one had warned the person concerned.
Present at New York Comic Con on Saturday, while currently filming PerishCage wanted to set the record straight. And he didn’t exactly mince his words about the director as we can see in the video below:
“Jon Turteltaub picks up a microphone, goes to Philadelphia and announces: ‘We’re doing Benjamin Gates 3, and Nic will be there.’ Except that I say to myself: ‘Uh… No, I didn’t sign for that.’ These microphones should be taken out of the hands of directors! We’ll see if I want to get back into it.”
With his sharp sense of humor, the actor assures that there is a way to convince the actor to resume the adventures of the historian-adventurer: Benjamin Gates should investigate the Epstein affair!
“Ben Gates takes on the Epstein files. That would be topical. There I would make this film!“
Suffice to say that Disney will certainly not be enthusiastic about the idea, even if the franchise is indeed dedicated to the secrets buried in the archives of American History. After the Declaration of Independence and the mysteries surrounding the presidents of the United States, Benjamin Gates could therefore perfectly embark on a much more contemporary quest. The fact remains that this release obviously does not constitute an official announcement of Benjamin Gates 3nor the confirmation that Nicolas Cage will reprise his role.
