One Piece in “live action”: Netflix delivers a fun and spectacular trailer
Impressive sets, an assumed manga atmosphere and some nice special effects, the live action adaptation is off to a good start.
“I am Monkey D. Luffy and I will become the greatest pirate!” One Piece arrives in “live action” on Netflix. And inevitably, given the number of fans that the biggest manga in the world has, the expectations will be gigantic. And with the recent expensive flop of cowboy bebop on the same platform, One Piece clearly does not arrive on conquered ground. Is it even possible to adapt a manga into live action?
We will see that on August 31, when One Piece will be released on Netflix. But by then, we are already a little reassured. The trailer that the streamer has just put online, on the occasion of Comic-Con 2023, is not infamous. She would even be more envious! Resolutely fun, visibly respectful of the manga, and frankly visually spectacular, this series One Piece could, on arrival, be a good surprise.
