Ravage, with Tom Hardy, will he hit as hard as The Raid? (trailer)
Gareth Evans returns to the action cinema for Netflix. His ultimate trailer is available.
“After a case of drug trafficking that went wrong, a bruised inspector must introduce himself into the world of organized crime to save the son of a politician, while disentangling a complex network of corruption and conspiracies that weighs throughout the city.”
Behind this fairly classic pitch (which also recalls another recent production from Netflix, Black Dovesthe muscular spy series with Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw), Ravaged (Havoc in VO) hides an action production that lovers of the genre expect firm foot. Because in 2011, its director Gareth Evans had amazed everyone with his breathless staging of The raid. A succession of more crazy choreographies than the other who have been enormously copied since, but rarely equaled.
Gareth Evans: “Going up in intensity is almost a question of ethics”
Building on this important esteem success, the British director again marked the public with his series Gangs of London (2020), and he shot the horrific film The right apostle (2018), already for Netflix, signing in passing a contract of several programs spread over 4 years with the platform. Who has not surprised him to work on a remake of The raid…
This agreement having been renewed, we are now waiting for news from this version, which should also be supervised by Michael Bay (Bad boys) and Patrick Hughes (Hitman & Bodyguard). But before that, Gareth Evans will therefore be released at the end of the month Havocproject announced in 2021. See you on April 25 to see if the promised shock will be up to it: to wait, Netflix is unveiling this week His final trailerwho bangs hard, of course.
