Rosalie Blum: Julien Rappeneau’s heady melody

While waiting for the return of short, Kyan Khojandi will be this evening on France 4. It only takes a few notes to love this fragile and imperfect film.

With Noémie Lvovsky,, Kyan Khojandi,, Alice Isaaz or the late Anemone,, Rosalie Blum had gone a little unnoticed in the cinema, in spring 2016. However, it is a nice film, taken from just as engaging comics by Camille Jourdy, who deserves a (re) viewing, this evening on France 4.

While waiting to know more about Season 2 of Briefwhich has just been announced by Kyan on Disney+.

In short, it is back for a season 2! Kyan Khojandi tells us why

The story of Rosalie Blum: Vincent Machot knows his life by heart. He shares it between his hair salon, her cousin, her cat, and his mother far too invasive. But life sometimes reserves surprises, even to the most prudent … He randomly meets Rosalie Blum, a mysterious and lonely woman, whom he is convinced that he has already met. But where? Intrigued, he decides to follow her everywhere, in the hope of knowing more. He does not suspect that this spinning mill will lead him into an adventure full of unforeseen events where he will discover characters as whimsical as attractive. One thing is certain: Vincent Machot’s life will change …

The criticism of First ::

Because it deploys a universe from an image or a sound that stays in the head, a film is sometimes more than what you see on the screen. With the fever of a kid builder who has become demiurge, whose giant decorations have a taste of miniatures, Julien Rappeneau Play with the views of his characters – three single souls who meet in a provincial town – which he mixes in a colorful symphony.

It is the discreet charm of this little film that a whisper could collapse. We think of Resnais (the playful and sentimental aspect). But Rosalie Blum Above all, has the heady scent of a melody. It is Vinteuil Sonata: a theme expressing the thirst for a charm that nothing knows how to satisfy. The film dissolves the partitions between past and present, real and imaginary, and reveals each time that we hear it the mysteries of an almost disappeared world. It doesn’t matter whether this air is accomplished or a little clumsy, just a few notes to make you love a film. Some notes to love Rosalie Blum.
