The Friday the 13th spin-off series will be broadcast in 2026 on HBO Max in France

Warner Bros. Discovery announces that it has acquired the French broadcast rights for this event series produced by A24 for HBO Max. The 8 episodes will be available in 2026 from us on the platform (exact date to be confirmed).
Prequel to the Friday the 13th saga, the Crystal Lake prequel will focus on the origins of Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini (Emergency), mother of Jason, unable to overcome the death of her son, drowned in the town lake. The arrival of two strangers who come to investigate her past will awaken old secrets and sow doubt among the residents: who really is Pam Voorhees?
The series promises to enrich the mythology of one of cinema’s most famous horror franchises by mixing psychological drama, mystery and horror, around Pamela’s grief and the dark forces surrounding Crystal Lake.
Alongside Linda Cardellini, the cast brings together William Catlett (Black Lightning) in the role of local police chief Levon Brooks, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom and Callum Vinson, who will play young Jason Voorhees.
The series is created, written and supervised by Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice, Black Sails).
