The Jungle Book: Peta thanked Jon Favreau for his “non-cruelty towards animals”

It makes sense, Baloo, Bagheera and the others are all digitally animated.

Peta regularly criticizes Hollywood, reacting to every evidence of animal abuse on set or intervening to have certain scenarios changed. But the organization also thanks certain directors and/or studios when they have managed to highlight animals in their feature films without harming them.

This is what happened in 2016 with the adaptation “live” of Jungle Book of Jon Favreau for Disney. A family film to watch again this evening on M6.

“Peta acknowledges the director’s involvement and thanks him for his decision to use digital technology to realistically bring the jungle animals to life in his film, we read on their official press release. This indeed offers an impressive visual rendering while ensuring 0% cruelty.”

The Jungle Book: Scarlett Johansson is captivating as Kaa

In fact, no animal could have been put in danger on the set, since there were none on the set! Baloo, Bagheera, Shere Khan, Kaa, King Louie and all the others were entirely digitally animated on this project. With the voices of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken respectively in original version. At our place, Eddy Mitchell had accepted to voice the lord of the monkeys, a role which had changed quite a bit compared to the character in the cartoon.
