The promo puts the emphasis on this idea: the new live-action film will seek above all to reproduce the video game experience in the cinema.

Guile’s “Flash Kick”, Zangief’s sledgehammer hold, Honda’s charged headbutt, Chun-Li’s “thousand kicks” or even Ryu’s “Hadoken” and Ken’s “Shoryuken”…

They will all be in the new movie Street Fighterwhich adapts the famous video game from Capcom. Paramount has just put online a little trailer which has fun showing (already) most of the special shots which will liven up the story and make fans get up from their seats. The promotion of the film has been largely focused on this for months. Obviously, this live-action version will seek above all to reproduce the video game experience in the cinema. A truly very faithful adaptation.

The film directed by Kitao Sakurai returns to the fundamentals of the saga: the rivalry between Ryu and Ken, two formerly inseparable fighters who will come face to face in the arena…

“In 1993, Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), two once inseparable Street Fighters, are thrust back into the arena when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, destiny and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to confront each other, while facing the demons of their past… And if they fail, it’s GAME OVER!” details the synopsis.

Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li (should constitute the emotional heart of this new live-action adaptation, surrounded by many other emblematic characters from the saga.

In addition to the Andrew Koji / Noah Centineo / Callina Liang trio, the trailer also shows glimpses of Cody Rhodes as Guile, Orville Peck as Vega, 50 Cent as Balrog, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Oliver Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.

This new movie Street Fighter will be released in theaters on October 14, 2026 in France.
