Stephen King's new adapted series will be seen on Max this summer in France

The Stephen King Institute remains open: season 2 ordered

While season 1 ends this week, 8 new episodes have just been ordered.

Released in the middle of July (in France on HBO Max), the Institute managed to find followers. Stephen King fans responded and the MGM studio has just ordered the rest, while season 1 will end this week.

This season 2 of the Institute will have 8 episodes.

Adapted from the eponymous novel by Stephen King published in 2019, the series is the best launch of the short history of the American platform MGM+. The first season brings together Ben Barnes, Mary-Louise Parker and Joe Freeman. And Stephen King – Executive producer – already rejoices:

“Released but tracked down, new dangers await the escapes of the Institute, and I can’t wait to see them arrive!”

The series tells the story of Luke Ellis (Freeman), a gifted teenager removed and kidnapped in a mysterious institution populated by children with extraordinary gifts. In a neighboring town, Tim Jamieson (Barnes), a former police officer haunted by his past, tries to rebuild himself … but calm will not last.

“The Institute has captured the public thanks to its singular narration and remarkable performance, which perfectly translates Stephen King’s unique voice on the screen,” praised Michael Wright, director of MGM+. “We are delighted to continue this freezing trip and to explore the secrets of the Institute even more in depth in season 2.”
