Who triumphed at the ArteKino festival 2026?
Sara Gutiérrez Galve and Austėja Urbaité were respectively awarded the European Public Prize and the Young Jury Prize with Yo La Busco and Remember to blink
ArteKino, the online festival of European cinema, this year brought together 3 million spectators across Europe on the arte.tv and Arte Cinéma You Tube platforms. And it celebrated its tenth anniversary in style as part of a ceremony organized in the premises of Fémis where the trophies rewarding two of the twelve films competing in the 2026 competition were presented. A ceremony preceded by a masterclass with Alice Winocour, on the occasion of the upcoming release of her film Seams with Angelina Jolie.
The European Audience Prize, worth €20,000, was awarded to Spanish director Sara Gutiérrez Galve for her film Yo La Busco (available since December 1 on arte.tv). It features a thirty-year-old in secret love with his roommate who tells him that she is moving to settle in with her partner. A poetic and choral chronicle around the passage to adulthood which follows his nocturnal wanderings in the streets of Barcelona to try to digest his heartache.
Awarded by fourteen young Europeans aged 18 to 25 (with 10,000 euros up for grabs), the Jury Prize dedicated Remember to Blink by the Lithuanian Austėja Urbaitė. It follows a French couple who adopt two Lithuanian children, brother and sister, and, to help them adapt to their new environment, hire a Lithuanian student, whose presence will gradually disrupt the family balance. Anne Azoulay (who came to collect the trophy), Arthur Igual (For love) and the revelation Ajus Antanavicius form the major trio of performers in this film, also available on Arte.tv
